Wednesday evening I ventured to the nabe surrounding Grand Central Station for a freelance bio interview. Digital recorder, check... digital SLR camera, fun HDR editing software, you know it... If you're gonna get drenched, you might as well have a couple shits and giggles along the way.

A Walk In The Park...

Friday was that kind of day that makes you think spring might actually endure in New York City... though of course any longtime resident knows it doesn't truly remain warm here until well after Memorial Day.

That makes it all the more spectacular when temps tickle the low 70s, and I happened to have a meeting on the outskirts of the perfect locale to soak in the sun: Central Park. Oh, what a joy. Even a rather masculine-looking Lady Liberty had to don a pair of shades.

Spring Has Sprung In NYC (Yet Again)

Another spring tease has tickled New York City, as it almost reached 80 degrees today. I'll take it!Folks of all ages, nationalities and, uh, shapes and sizes relaxed on the Brooklyn Heights Promenade today.

NYC Teases With Another Beautiful Spring-Like Day

After three days of cold, clammy, bone-chilling rain, the sun is again teasing New York, as if it's really spring. Even The Fucking Weather is singing its praises! Natch, rain and temps in the 50s return for the weekend, but that's another day. For now, thank the heavens above.

Morning Glory

The critters and I were up and out nice & early this morning and to my astonishment, it was neither snowing or sleeting. In fact, it was downright pleasant. Who'd have expected that before the middle of June in New York?

Snow: A Beautiful Dusting

Just enough snow in Brooklyn this morning to coat a beautiful dusting... over the black soot that remains from the previous 12 snowfalls. Lovely.

NYC Blizzard: We Ain't Seen Nothin'

We complain about lackadaisical snow removal in 2011? Ha, ha, har. Imagine what it was like clearing the unpaved roads of New York City during the blizzard of 1888... shoveling horse-drawn carts full of the white stuff to be carried away. 1948... Better, but still no day at the races, as this snazzy taxi stuck on an icy street shows. Inset: December 2010.

White Out

Today's 4 inches of snow was apparently just a dress rehearsal for the big event. Tonight, 6-10 inches are expected to blanket New York City.... Is it June yet?Addenundum: 5 p.m. It's a slushy bucket of mess outside, and as the temp drops from 34, I see black ice all around. Danger!

White Alert!

With temps just below freezing this morning, the white stuff is coming down again. Forecast: Snow turning to sleet, then rain. Prediction: sloppy mess.

Here We Go Again!

Already at 8 a.m., the snow is falling in NYC. Predicted this round: 3-6 inches.At least it makes the ever-accumulating trash piles that the dumb-ass sanitation department refuses to pick up in parts of Brooklyn look a little more artistic, right?

Digging It

The great dig-out begins following New York's 20.2-inch blizzard Sunday. The sun is out, allowing sidewalks to reappear. The side streets... another story.Brooklyn Heights this morning. A beaming, bright a.m.Times Square, 8:30 a.m.Chelsea...And back to the barely grazed Brooklyn Heights, where street cleaning seems to have gotten lost in New York's snow removal agenda.Recovery will come. Smiles, everybody!
